The Las Vegas Small Business Marketing Checklist (10 Things That Actually Move the Needle)
The exact 10-step marketing checklist I walk through with every Las Vegas small business — in priority order, with the things that actually move revenue at the top.
I've worked with restaurants, med spas, contractors, law firms, salons, and retail shops across Las Vegas, Henderson, and Summerlin. And almost every one of them was missing the same foundational pieces when I started working with them.
This is the checklist I walk through with every new client. It's in priority order — the things at the top move the most revenue per hour of effort. Steal it. Use it whether we work together or not.
1. Claim and fully optimize your Google Business Profile
This is the highest-ROI thing you can do as a Las Vegas small business. Your Google Business Profile (the thing that shows up on the right side of Google when someone searches your name) decides whether you appear in the Google Maps 3-pack — the top three businesses for any "near me" search.
Fill out every field. Add photos every week. Pick the most specific primary category Google offers for your type of business. Use Posts. Answer questions. Respond to every review. This alone moves the needle more than most paid ads.
2. Get to at least 50 Google reviews — then keep going
Las Vegas customers don't trust a business with 4 reviews. They trust the one with 287. Build a simple text-message review request system: every time you finish a job or a happy customer pays, send them a one-tap link to leave a Google review. Aim for 5+ new reviews a month. Forever.
3. Make sure your website loads in under 3 seconds on mobile
Google penalizes slow mobile sites in rankings, and customers bounce in under 5 seconds when a site is sluggish. Run yours through PageSpeed Insights. If your mobile score is under 70, you're losing customers every single day. (My free website check will catch this for you in 60 seconds.)
4. Add a click-to-call button to every mobile page
Sounds basic. Most Vegas service businesses still don't have this. A tap-to-call button at the top of every mobile page can lift call volume 20-40% with zero ad spend. Just do it.
5. Build dedicated pages for every service and every neighborhood you serve
If you're a plumber that serves Henderson, Summerlin, and the northwest, you should have a page targeting each of those. Same with services — water heater repair, slab leaks, sewer cleaning — each gets its own page. This is how you rank for the long-tail searches your customers actually type into Google.
6. Set up basic conversion tracking
You can't improve what you don't measure. Get Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager set up. Track form submissions, phone calls, and key button clicks. After 60 days you'll be making decisions based on real data instead of vibes.
7. Run a small, tightly-targeted Google Ads campaign on your highest-margin service
Notice I said small and tightly-targeted. Don't pick "all services" and "all of Las Vegas" — pick the one service that makes you the most money and the one geo you serve best. $500–$1,500/month is plenty to start, and the data you get is worth more than the leads.
8. Post consistently on the ONE social platform your customers actually use
Restaurants and beauty → Instagram. Local services → Facebook + Nextdoor. Professional services → LinkedIn. Don't try to do all of them. Pick one, post 3-5 times a week, and ignore the others.
9. Capture email addresses (even if you have no idea what you'll send)
Add a simple opt-in to your website. Future-you will thank present-you when you launch a promo, a new service, or want to win back lapsed customers. Email still outperforms almost every other channel for cost per conversion.
10. Pick one channel to go deeper on, not three to go shallow on
The fatal mistake I see: a small business spreading $800/month across Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Instagram management, SEO, and email — and getting nothing back from any of them. Pick the one channel with the most leverage for your business and pour 80% of your budget there until it's actually working.
